UPDATE: The pedestrian killed in the crash last Thursday has been identified as Brian D. Brown, 39, of Aurora. No further information has been provided at this time.
(Aurora, Ind.) – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Thursday morning in Aurora.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident on U.S. 50 in the area of the Heart House around 5:48 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located a 39-year-old victim that was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the victim was struck by an eastbound vehicle in the high-speed lane. At this time, it is unknown why the victim was in the middle of the road prior to being struck.
The identity of the victim, who was a Heart House resident, is being withheld at this time until his family has been notified.
Investigators say the driver involved in the accident has been fully cooperative with the investigation and reported the crash.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Aurora Police, the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office, Aurora Fire, Aurora EMS and the Ohio County Coroner’s Office.
