UPDATE: One Killed, Five Hurt In Boone Co. Crash

Police have identified the name of the woman who died after being injured in a crash on Dixie Highway in Walton Wednesday.

 

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says Leeann Wilson, 36, of Walton, died following the accident in which the 2000 Saturn car she was driving was struck by a 2008 Dodge Caliber.

 

Three other people in Wilson's vehicle were hospitalized. They were Melanie Abalos, 39, of Bedford, Ind., and Brandon Wilson, 15, and Angel Wilson, 13, both of Walton, Ky. The teenagers were Leeann Wilson's children.

 

The crash remains under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Accident Reconstruction Team.

(Walton, Ky.) - One person was killed and five more hurt in a crash in southern Boone County Wednesday afternoon.

 

Florence resident Tarra Miller, 21, was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber on Dixie Highway near Chambers Road in Walton when she crossed into the path of an oncoming 2000 Saturn.

 

The other driver was taken to the hospital where she died. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies have not identified that person killed pending notification of relatives.

 

Miller and a passenger in her car, Andrew Miller, 28, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. They were each wearing a seatbelt.

 

Three people, two of them children, in the Saturn were also hurt. Of the four people in the second car, only one was wearing a seatbelt, police said.

 

Dixie Highway was closed for three hours as police worked the accident scene.
