UPDATE: One Dead in U.S. 50 Crash Near Dillsboro

The crash was reported Tuesday night just before 8:30.

Update published Wednesday, February 23 at 4:41 p.m.:

A Milan woman has been identified as the victim as a fatal accident near Dillsboro.

Indiana State Police say 31-year-old Felicia Fraasman was traveling westbound on US 50 near Lake Dilldear Road when for an unknown reason she crashed into the rear of a semi on Tuesday night.

Fraasman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toxicology tests are pending.  

 

Original story published Wednesday, February 23 at 11:20 a.m.:

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident near Dillsboro.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the crash in the area of U.S. 50 on Tuesday around 8:26 p.m.

According to Sheriff Shane McHenry, the early investigation shows that a male driver of a tractor trailer was pulling out of the Mobil Station to go west on U.S. 50 when the trailer was struck in the rear by a passenger vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, who remains unidentified at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Indiana State Police have since taken over the investigation.

No other information has been provided at this time.
