UPDATE: Officer Involved Shooting Reported In Batesville

The incident began after a person barricaded themselves inside a home on Bridlewood Trace on Monday morning.

Update published at 2:39 p.m.:

Monday morning's incident at a home on Bridlewood Trace is under investigation after an officer involved shooting. 

Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the suspect that was barricaded inside the Batesville home was shot by police. No officers were injured in the incident. 

Indiana State Police will lead the investigation going forward. 

No other information has been provided at this time.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Police are on the scene of a barricaded individual. 

The incident was reported by Sgt. Stephen Wheeles around 11:10 a.m. at a home on Bridlewood Trace.

Despite earlier rumors, no officers have been injured. 

Area residents and motorists are urged to avoid the area while troopers look to resolve the situation peacefully.
