(Boone County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of two upcoming resurfacing projects in Boone County beginning on Friday, Oct. 31.

Crews will be resurfacing a portion of two state routes:

  • Petersburg Road (KY 20) from Woolper Road (mile point 8.15) extending easterly to Idlewild Bypass (KY 3608) (mile point 10.87), a distance of 2.72 miles.
  • Beaver Road (KY 1292) from the bridge near Sturgeon Road (mile point 2.40) extending easterly to KY 14 (mile point 4.93), a distance of 2.53 miles.

Base failure repairs will take place on Petersburg Road on Friday, Oct. 31, then crews will shift to Beaver Road on Saturday, Nov. 1, to complete repairs at this location. After base failure repairs have cured, milling and paving operations will follow. KYTC will provide an update on the District 6 Roadshow when the schedule is finalized.

A single lane closure will be in place during daytime working hours with flaggers on-site to direct traffic.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, use caution when traveling in the area and consider alternate routes when possible.

Eaton Asphalt Paving Co. Inc. is contracted to perform the $600,452 project on behalf of KYTC. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2025.
