(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - With inclement weather in the forecast for Halloween, area cities and towns have decided to move Trick-or-Treat.

The Halloween forecast for Thursday calls for rain and heavy wind gusts, which has prompted the City of Greendale and City of Lawrenceburg to move trick-or-treat to Saturday, November 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun tells Eagle Country 99.3 that the decision boiled down to a safety issue.

"I know this may be an inconvenience for some, but we hope that people can understand the reason that we are doing this to look out for the kiddos. We want them to be safe and we want them to enjoy it. said Mayor Mollaun. "I thank Mayor Karsteter for reaching out. Very agreeable about moving it."

The Town of Dillsboro has also announced a change. Trick-or-Treat in Dillsboro will be moved to Friday, November 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Despite the change for Trick or Treating, the Halloween Costume Contest and Parade will proceed as planned on Wednesday, October 30. The parade will line up at the old US Bank lot at 6:00 PM, with the parade starting at 6:30 PM and concluding at the Civic Club building. In the event of rain, the contest will be moved indoors to the Civic Club.

Categories include Age Groups, Witches, Monsters, Cartoon Characters, Famous Look-a-likes, and more. Prizes awarded for various categories.

A running list of Trick-or-Treat times can be found below. Eagle Country 99.3 will update the list as changes are announced.
