(Kenton County, Ky.) -The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of several exit ramp closures in Kenton County beginning Thursday, July 10. These ramp closures are necessary to provide a safe area for crews to make repairs to pavement that has buckled.

Weather permitting, beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, crews will close the following on/off ramps on Interstate 275 westbound:

  • I-275 westbound off-ramps to Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) (I-275 westbound collector-distributor 81.88 to 82.64 mile points)
  • Turkeyfoot Road (KY 1303) on-ramp to I-275 westbound (0.00 to 0.23 mile points)

Crews will be using 24-hour concrete mix to make repairs to the impacted area. The ramp closures are expected to remain in place through Friday afternoon. KYTC will provide an update on social media once the ramps have reopened.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes to avoid delays. KYTC signal engineers will make adjustments to strategic traffic signals near these impacted ramps to improve traffic flow during the closure.

KYTC has placed signage on the exit ramp warning motorists of the bump currently in place in the left lane of the collector/distributor ramp to Dixie Highway. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, and drive carefully near this area until repairs are made on Thursday and Friday.

Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
