Three Finalists For NKU President

(Highland Heights, Ky.) - The search for a new president at Northern Kentucky University is honing in on three candidates.

 

Current NKU president James Votruba announced last year he will soon retire after 15 years at the university’s top administrative position.

 

"Throughout the search process we have been thrilled with the caliber of those interested in leading NKU," said Presidential Search and Screening Committee Chair Martin Butler. "Each of these finalists has the experience and ability not only to sustain the university's momentum but to take it to a whole new level."

 

The Northern Kentucky University Presidential Search and Screening Committee announced Monday it has widdled the field to three candidates who will visit the campus in coming weeks.

 

Jonathan Gibralter of Frostburg State University in Maryland will visit March 28 and 29. David Eisler of Ferris State University in Michigan will visit April 2 and 3.

 

A third candidate has not been identified because that person has not yet informed their current employer. They will visit April 9 and 10.

 

During their visits, the finalists will meet with the university's regents, administrators, academic deans, faculty, staff and students as well as members of the business, government and general community. 

 

The NKU Board of Regents could select the new president in mid-April.
