(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Three people were taken into custody on Tuesday evening in connection to a road rage and shooting incident that took place earlier this month.

Joshua Michael Orrantia, Ashley Raymer, and Anthony Boyer were arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 Felony), Criminal Recklessness (Level 6 Felony), Pointing a Firearm (Level 6 Felony), Obstruction of Justice (Level 6 Felony), and Assisting a Criminal (Level 6 Felony).

On August 7, Lawrenceburg and Greendale police responded to a report of gunshots involving two vehicles traveling on U.S. 50. One of the vehicles was located and cooperated with law enforcement. The second vehicle fled the area.

Police released information to the public on August 10 and within three days, a gray 2006 Ford Focus, matching the description of the suspect vehicle, was found abandoned by a park ranger in a remote area of Versailles State Park.

With assistance of Indiana DNR, the vehicle was secured at Lawrenceburg Police Department and a search warrant was obtained. According to Prosecutor Lynn Deddens, evidence that the vehicle had been involved in a shooting was located inside the vehicle.

After further investigation, Orrantia was identified as the driver of the Ford Focus and he resided with Boyer at Tanglewood Apartments in Versailles. Investigators say Orrantia had recently been involved with gunshots and firearms incidents in Versailles. Law enforcement also learned that Raymer assisted Orrantia in discarding the Focus at Versailles State Park.

Boyer and Raymer were located at the apartments and taken into custody. Orrantia was arrested after a police pursuit in Jefferson County.

All three are being held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
