(Ohio/Switzerland Counties, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Enneking Pressure Cleaning plans to begin work next week on a bridge rehabilitation contract on S.R. 56 and S.R. 250 in Ohio and Switzerland Counties. The contract includes deck overlays at three locations: S.R. 56 over Laughery Creek, S.R. 56 over Arnold Creek, and S.R. 250 over Wade Creek.
Temporary signals were originally scheduled to be activated on or after Monday, September 19, at the S.R. 250 bridge in Switzerland County. Signals will now control traffic on S.R. 56 over Laughery Creek in Ohio County starting Monday. The bridge is located 2.64 miles west of U.S. 50, near the Dearborn/Ohio County line.
After the S.R. 56 bridge is complete over Laughery Creek, crews will move to the S.R. 56 bridge over Arnold Creek, followed by S.R. 250 over Wade Creek. Temporary signals will also be used at these locations. Start dates will be announced.
The contract was awarded to Enneking in August 2022. All three locations are expected to be complete by mid-to-late October. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
