INDIANAPOLIS – With dry conditions into next week, six counties in Indiana have declared burn bans.

Locally, the Switzerland County Board of Commissioners have put into effect a Countywide Burn Ban for Switzerland County. This burn ban is in effect until further notice.

Franklin County is also under a burn ban.

A burn ban is a restriction set by county officials that limits or prohibits open burning, campfires, or the use of fireworks. These measures help reduce the risk of wildfires and keep communities safe.

You can check the burn ban status in your county anytime at in.gov/dhs/burnban.
