(Ripley County, Ind.) - Many community members including schools, clubs, sports teams, 4-H clubs, and more came out on Saturday to help honor those who have served.
The Wreaths Across America mission honors those who have served and lost their lives and teaches children the value of freedom.
When a wreath is laid, the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud is done. There is three important lessons that this mission wants to teach- remember, honor, and teach.
Saturday's event was the 2nd annual Wreaths Across Ripley County event for this community. Wreaths were delivered by Baylor Trucking, who have participated in Wreaths Across America for many years now. Students supported the program by placing wreaths. The wreath placement was followed by a ceremony at the Ripley County Courthouse.
A total of 4,715 wreaths were sponsored this year.
