(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - St. Lawrence School students raised $25,159 through their annual Steps for St. Lawrence event. The fundraising total beats the school’s initial 2025 goal by more than $5,000.

Proceeds from the walk-a-thon-style event, held Monday, April 28, at the Lawrenceburg High School track, support school operations and will be used to purchase a new language arts curriculum for adoption during the 2026-2027 school year.

“Steps for St. Lawrence is an incredible way for our students to engage friends and family in support of their school,” said Father John Hollowell, who led the students in prayer before and after the April 28 event. “It then culminates in an afternoon of fun where children from preschool through 8th grade spend time outside and put focus on their physical health.”

During the 2025 Steps for St. Lawrence event, students walked or ran laps around the quarter-mile track. Many students also raised enough money through individual fundraising efforts to enter to win raffle prizes or gain participation in other activities, including a grade-based Gaga ball tournament or time jumping in a bounce house. The day ended with popsicles for all participants.

The 2025 Steps for St. Lawrence Event was organized by St. Lawrence School teachers Mary Ann Atwood and Bryan Wagner.
