There will be traffic impacts this week

(Covington, Ky.) - A routine inspection of the Brent Spence Bridge is underway.
This inspection will focus on the Kentucky approach spans and truss.
All lane closures associated with this inspection will be on Interstate 71/75 northbound from south of W. Fifth Street (KY 8) (191 mile point) in Covington to north of the bridge's main span in Ohio. Access to Fifth Street in Covington along with I-71 northbound (Fort Washington Way) and I-75 northbound in Ohio will be maintained during working hours. All lanes are expected to reopen the following morning by 5 a.m.
Tentative Schedule (Weather Permitting)
- Monday, Sept. 14: right double lane closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 16: left double lane closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 17: left double lane closure from 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The inspection will continue Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25 as crews shift to the Brent Spence Bridge truss and Kentucky approach spans. The inspection team will be utilizing rope access and man lifts to access these areas daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This portion of the inspection does not require any travel impacts.
Weather permitting, this routine bridge inspection is expected to be completed Friday, September 25 at 5:00 p.m.
