Street Closures, Controlled Intersections Announced Tastes Of Summer, 5K Events

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Street closure plans have been released for upcoming events in Lawrenceburg.

A busy weekend is ahead in Whiskey City as the annual Lauren’s Burg Hill 5K and Tastes of Summer events take place on Saturday, June 19.

Race times for the five-mile and 5K runs are 7:22 a.m. and 7:32 a.m. During the races the following traffic controls and street closures will be in place:

Controlled Intersections (6:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)

  • US 50 and Walnut Street
  • US 50 and Front Street
  • Bielby Road between US 50 and Doughty Road
  • Doughty Road between Bielby Road and US 50
  • US 50 and Tiger Boulevard
  • US 50 and Arch Street

Street Closures for Race Routes (6:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.)

  • Walnut Street at Center Street to US 50
  • Tate Street between Walnut Street to Front Street
  • Todd Lane between W. Tate Street through Todd Creech Park to Walnut Street

Through traffic will remain open on US 50 and State Road 48 with lane closures in place for race participants.

Tastes of Summer will follow starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Civic Park. The event will include local food vendors, rides and kids activities, and live music.

The following street closures will be in effect Friday, June 18 at 3:00 p.m. through Saturday, June 19 at 11:00 p.m.:

  • E. High Street between Walnut Street to the alley between Short Street and Elm Street
  • Short Street between New Street to Proof 124
  • Lawrenceburg Civic Park closed to through traffic
  • Parking lot adjacent to Strong’s Pizza closed for kids rides

Attendees may use the Ivy Tech parking garage, entering on Walnut Street or New Street.
