STM Motorsports, Inc. Named New Promotor of Lawrenceburg Speedway

The group plans to continue racing in 2024 and beyond.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Speedway has a new promoter.

The City of Lawrenceburg on Monday approved a resolution establishing STM Motorsports, Inc. as the new operators of Lawrenceburg Speedway.

Lawrenceburg Speedway, which is owned by the City of Lawrenceburg, was operated by Dave and Kim Rudisell from 2007 until the end of the 2023 season.

The City advertised and published a Request for Qualifications inviting proposals from potential promotors to operate the speedway. STM Motorsports was the lone entity to submit a proposal.

The group is led by Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry.

"Our family is excited to announce that STM Motorsports is indeed us," said McHenry. "We still need to finalize the contract with the city but we were approved as the new promoters of Lawrenceburg Speedway tonight at the city council meeting. We will have a formal announcement soon and answer a lot of questions that everyone wants to know about the schedule and classes. We are looking forward to a successful 2024 racing season."

As part of an agreement with the City, STM Motorsports will operate the Lawrenceburg Speedway for a period of four years with a renewal option.

“We are very excited to announce that we have found a new promotor for the Lawrenceburg Speedway and it is their mission to have racing continue for the 2024 racing season and into the future,” said City Attorney Del Weldon. “The Lawrenceburg Speedway has such a rich history and incredible racing tradition. It means so much to so many people and we have worked really hard for those folks to make sure we did everything possible to keep the track open. We are looking forward to partnering with STM Motorsports and many more years of racing at the Lawrenceburg Speedway.”
