(Oldenburg, Ind.) - The Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg invite guests to a special self-guided tour of their historic Motherhouse and grounds on May 16, from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m., as they celebrate 175 years of faith, service and community.
Guests are invited to explore pieces of convent history dating back to the 1850’s and learn about foundress Mother Theresa Hackelmeier. A highlight of the tour is The Immaculate Conception chapel, with special attention paid to the details that amplify its beauty.
A timeline of the history of the Sisters of St. Francis is also on display that traces their remarkable journey. Golf-cart tours of the cemetery and Memorial Chapel will also be available. Sisters will be available throughout the tour to answer questions and engage in conversation.
Visitor are encouraged to visit the gift shop for unique handmade items. Light refreshments will be served in the Sisters’ dining room.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a local resident, or simply looking for an enjoyable afternoon, the tour offers a unique opportunity to connect with the Sisters’ legacy.
