The accident occurred on the morning of August 10.

(West Harrison, Ind.) – A West Harrison man has been identified as the victim of a fatal wreck on State Road 46.
Dearborn County Sheriff Shane McHenry says the accident occurred the morning of August 10 on State Road 46 near Whites Hill Road.
John J. Gruber, 40, was operating a 2012 Harley Davidson when a vehicle in front of him slowed to turn left onto Whites Hill Road. Gruber was unable to stop in time and hit the back of the vehicle in front of him before going left of center and striking an oncoming vehicle.
As result, the motorcycle landed on top of Gruber. Police say Gruber was not wearing a helmet and was critically injured.
He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by New Trenton Fire Department and Harrison Fire and EMS.
