(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company plans to close State Road 156 just west of North Branch Road on or after Monday, June 16, to complete a slide correction project in Switzerland County. S.R. 156 will reopen just west of Evans Hill Road prior to this closure.
The closure will take place just west of North Branch Road located between Rising Sun and Patriot and is expected to reopen in late September, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 56.
Following this closure, an additional closure will take place on S.R. 156 between Rising Sun and Patriot. INDOT will provide additional information and updates as work progresses.
This project is part of a $13.8 million contract awarded to Paul H. Rohe in May 2023. The contract includes three district slide correction projects. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
