State Road 1 Corridor Plan Public Open House Survey Available Online

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Did you miss the July 19 Open House regarding the State Road 1 Corridor Plan?

If so, there is still time to share your opinions and suggestions that will help shape the future of the area surrounding Interstate 74 and State Road 1 interchange in Dearborn and Franklin counties. 

The Public Open House Survey of Preliminary Recommendations is available now at www.sr1corridorplan.com. This survey gives online respondents the opportunity to weigh in on the same materials which were provided at the July 19 Open House held at East Central High School.

The survey will remain open through Wednesday, August 9

The State Road 1 Corridor Plan is being conducted by the SEI READI, Inc., a non-profit partnering with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation READI program. Local economic development organizations have been in the planning process for Dearborn and Franklin counties' areas surrounding the Interstate 74 and State Road 1 (SR 1) interchange, as well as further north and south along SR 1. The plan being reviewed will explore development potential, infrastructure investments, preservation priorities, and other community desires.

State Road 1 Corridor Vision 

  • Employment: Grow local employment opportunities.  

  • Commercial & Retail: Attract additional commercial and retail businesses that fill needs for residents on the corridor while avoiding big box and regional-scale developments.  

  • Neighborhoods: Create high quality neighborhoods that diversify housing stock while preserving agricultural land and natural spaces.  

  • Rural Character: Preserve rural character and protect existing investment along the corridor.
