South Ripley Elementary Principal Earns District 10 Honor

(Versailles, Ind.) - The principal at South Ripley Elementary School is the District 10 Elementary Principal of the Year.

Amy Linkel was announced as the top elementary principal in the region by the Indiana Association of School Principals. There are 12 IASP regions across the state.

This is Linkel’s second time winning an IASP award. She also received the District 10 Assistant Principal of the Year honor in 2012, when she was assistant principal at South Ripley Elementary.

Under her leadership, South Ripley Elementary earned an A on its 2017-2018 school year report card from the Indiana Department of Education.

District 10 is located in southeast Indiana and is made up of Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Hancock, Jennings, Ripley, Rush, Shelby and Union Counties.

Linkel will formally be honored for the award at the principals’ association’s annual awards in Indianapolis on November 24, 2019. She is also in the running for the statewide elementary principal of the year, which will be announced at the awards celebration.

The Indiana Association of School Principals is a not-for-profit, professional association serving over 2,900 building level administrators in Indiana.
