South Dearborn Community School Corporation Hires New Superintendent

The new superintendent will replace Eric Lows, who is leaving after six years in the role.

(Aurora, Ind.) - The South Dearborn Community School Corporation Board of Trustees officially hired Dr. Ronald Ross as the next superintendent. He is replacing the current superintendent, Mr. Eric Lows, who has served in that role for the past six years.

Ross comes to South Dearborn from Edinburgh Community Schools where he has served as the superintendent since July of 2021. Prior to Edinburgh, he was the emotional and behavioral learning coordinator, English language learner coordinator, and GCJHS dean of students for Greenfield Central School Corporation in Greenfield, Indiana.

He began his career in education as a high school teacher and coach, first at Union City Community High School in Union City, Indiana and then at Richmond High School in Richmond, Indiana. He first moved into an administrative role as the assistant principal of Burris Laboratory School in Muncie, and then the assistant principal at Northeastern Wayne Schools in Fountain City, Indiana. He then went on to serve as the principal of Union County Middle School in Liberty, Indiana.

Ron and his wife have expressed a great fondness for Aurora and surrounding southeastern Indiana and are excited to move into the South Dearborn Community and be a part of all it has to offer.

Regarding his move to South Dearborn Community Schools, he says, “I am honored to serve as the superintendent of the South Dearborn Community School Corporation. This is a dream job for me! My family and I are looking forward to relocating to the area and learning about all of the great things happening in our schools and community. I am grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to get started!”

Ross will officially assume the role of superintendent on July 1, 2024.
