(Rising Sun, Ind.) – An upcoming golf outing will benefit two great causes in Dearborn County.

The Smoke Eaters Open will take place on Sunday, June 9 at The Links at Rising Star Casino.

Proceeds from this event will be split between the Aurora Fire Department Scholarship Fund, which is administered through South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars, and the new St. Elizabeth Dearborn Cancer Center in Greendale.

Since its establishment in 2012, the Aurora Fire Department Scholarship has awarded nearly $11,000 to 19 seniors.

Funds going to the new Cancer Center will support the Integrated Oncology Department.

Cost is $400 per foursome.

The event includes lunch at 12:30 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1:00.

The registration deadline is May 17.
