(Greendale, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the activation of new traffic signals at S.R. 1 and Oberting Road in Greendale next week. Work began in February on the $314,000 contract.
Signal heads are scheduled to be hung at the intersection on Monday, April 11, weather permitting, and signals will be activated once installation is complete. Motorists should be aware of intermittent lane closures with flagging while overhead work is in progress.
Traffic will be controlled by three and five-head signals once the signals are activated. Drivers should use extra caution as traffic adjusts to the new traffic control.
INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
