UPDATE: Rising Sun-Rabbit Hash Ferry Should Resume This Weekend

UPDATE: The ferry is being prepped for the winter.

Update published Friday, October 26:

The Rising Star Casino ferry is expected to running this weekend after being closed for the past few days.

"It’s being fitted for new rigging for winter conditions," says casinos spokesperson Jackie Reau. "We hope to have it back up by the weekend."

 

Original story published Thursday, October 25:

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The new ferry boat between Rising Sun and Rabbit Hash is not operating again Thursday.

Ferry owner Rising Star Casino announced Tuesday evening that the ferry operations have been momentarily suspended until further notice.

A reason has not been given.

The shut down comes just a few weeks after the ferry began giving rides across the Ohio River.
