(Sunman, IN) - Ripley County Deputies responded to a business alarm at Sunman Auto Care on March 30. Deputies arrived on scene within 11 minutes and observed the front door glass had been broken.
They quickly collected evidence and identified a suspect that Deputy Justin Linkel had encountered the previous day for an unrelated reason. Deputies began a search nearby for the suspect, and detained 21-year-old, Dakota Myers from Sunman. Dakota Myers was arrested and booked into the Ripley County Jail on preliminary charges of Burglary, Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Marijuana.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sunman Police Department, Marshal Bryan Maynard, Indiana State Police, and Sunman Rescue 20. Deputy Justin Linkel was the investigating officer.
