Highlighting a matching opportunity, the AED initiative, and Grants

(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Ripley County Community Foundation is excited to announce its Annual Day of Giving, a special event dedicated to inspiring generosity throughout the community. This year's event will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a unique opportunity for residents to support their favorite local causes.

The hope of this event is to keep charitable gifts within the local community, ensuring that every dollar contributes directly to the betterment of the place we call home. By supporting the causes and organizations that make Ripley County a wonderful place to live, we can strengthen our community's future and build a permanent source of funding that will benefit generations to come.

The community is encouraged to seize this special Day of Giving to contribute to their favorite charity, expand opportunities in a field of personal interest, or leave a lasting legacy. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps fulfill the vital missions of our local nonprofits.

A Special Matching Opportunity

To highlight this year’s event, the Ripley County Community Foundation's Board of Directors has approved a special matching opportunity as a token of appreciation for the community’s generosity. Donations made to endowed funds during the Day of Giving will be eligible to receive a match of $0.50 for every $1 donated.

Matching funds will be committed on a first-come, first-served basis and must be placed into an endowed fund of the donor's choice. The maximum amount of matching dollars that each fund can receive is $5,000. This matching opportunity doubles the impact of every gift, helping endowed funds grow at an accelerated rate.

A Celebration of Impact

To further demonstrate the power of local giving, the Ripley County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors will grant $50,000 back into the community. The recipients of the 2025 Large Grants will be announced during the Day of Giving. This is the perfect time for the community, and those who are contemplating a donation, to see firsthand how the foundation’s work is enriching the quality of life in Ripley County.

A Special Focus: The AED Initiative

In a major effort to enrich the quality of life in Ripley County, the Board of Directors is using the Day of Giving to place special focus on the AED Initiative. This initiative is focused on supporting every law enforcement department in Ripley County by placing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine in all 46 police cruisers in service in Ripley County. Currently, none of Ripley County’s police cruisers are equipped with an AED machine. This initiative will provide our first responders with the critical equipment needed to act quickly and potentially save lives during a cardiac emergency. To reach this ambitious goal Community Foundation will need to raise $72,772 on the Day of Giving.

To thank the community for its generosity, anyone who makes a gift of $50 or more to the AED Initiative during the Day of Giving will be entered into a drawing. One lucky donor will win a $500 grant to be awarded to the qualified charitable organization of their choice. This exciting opportunity allows donors to not only support our law enforcement but also direct additional funds to a cause they care about.

The Ripley County Community Foundation is committed to Connecting People Who Care with Causes that Matter. On the Day of Giving, donations can be made in-person at the Community Foundation office at 13 E. George Street, Suite B, Batesville; online at rccfonline.org; or via telephone at (812) 933-1098.
