(Florence, Ky.) - New information may soon be released in the investigation into a Florence couple’s murder.
Seventy-four-year-olds Bill and Peggy Stephenson were found murdered in their Ridge Edge Court home on Memorial Day weekend 2011.
WCPO-TV cites sources in reporting that a press conference announcing the new information could be held this week. The new developments concern the reward money offered for information in the murders, and possibly new information on DNA evidence, the station said.
In January, the Stephenson’s surviving family announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
The Stephenson’s nephew, Charles Robert Stephenson, is facing a murder charge in Dearborn County for the March 29 slaying of Aurora resident Leigh Jennings, 67. Although he was questioned following his aunt and uncle’s murders, Charles Stephenson has not been charged in connection with them.
