(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Ripley County Community Foundation awarded $5,000 through the A Greener Tomorrow program to three local organizations.
A Greener Tomorrow grants support projects and initiatives that protect, enhance, and restore the natural environment while fostering environmental stewardship throughout Ripley County, enriching the quality of life for its residents.
The recipients of this grant program were:
- Kids Discovery Factory – To foster a hands-on STEAM learning program about water conservation and the importance of natural resources.
- Ripley County Board of Commissioners – To purchase and plant native hardwood trees on the courthouse lawn to preserve and enhance the green space on the town square.
- St. Louis Catholic School – To expand the school’s student-led recycling program, which promotes a culture of environmental sustainability among students, faculty, and community members.
“The Ripley County Community Foundation is pleased to support projects that enhance the environment and natural resources of our county and empowering younger generations to become environmental stewards in their schools and communities,” stated Amy Streator, Executive Director of the Ripley County Community Foundation.
