Public Input Needed for Aurora Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan

An open house will take place this Saturday.

The Dearborn Trail is currently a part of the bicycle and pedestrian system in Aurora.

(Aurora, Ind.) – An open house will take place Saturday where area residents can provide input for the future of walking and biking in Aurora.

The Aurora Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan will be a comprehensive assessment of all bicycle and pedestrian facilities and will guide the city’s development of the bicycle and pedestrian system.

Public input is sought on Saturday, March 11 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Aurora Recreation Community Center.

The master plan will engage residents and community leaders to provide recommendations to improve pedestrian and bicycle circulation, connections and opportunities.

Upgrades throughout the community could include bike lanes, paved trails, improvements to sidewalks and fixing dangerous crossings.

The master plan does not include any plans for built projects, but does provide a general budget cost for planning purposes to allow the City of Aurora to prioritize projects.

The completion date for the master plan is May of this year.
