Police say all evidence suggests the shooting was accidental.

(Batesville, Ind.) – A Batesville man accidentally shot himself in the hand while showing off his handgun at a business Thursday.
Batesville Police responded to Margaret Mary Health’s emergency room around 4:15 p.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.
Teddy Flodder, 60, told officers that he was at Koch’s Auto in Batesville showing another individual a handgun he was selling. The gun accidentally discharged, striking Flodder in the hand.
Officers interviewed employees at the auto shop, who corroborated Flodder’s story.
Police believe all evidence suggests the shooting was accidental, but they continue to investigate.
“The Batesville Police would like to encourage citizens to treat all guns as if they were loaded and always keep them pointed in a safe direction,” says Chief of Police Stan Holt.
