Police Looking For Unidentified Armed Robbery Suspect

A man used a handgun to rob the Dollar General on Dixie Highway in Walton on Wednesday night.

(Walton, Ky.) – The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a robbery suspect.

On Wednesday, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General on Dixie Highway in Walton.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that a male suspect entered the business just before 10:00 p.m. and approached the counter, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the safe.

Employees complied with the demands and no one was injured.

The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of case. Witnesses stated that they did not observe a vehicle in the parking lot, so it’s unknown at this time if a vehicle was involved.

The suspect is described as a heavyset male, approximately 5’10” and 275 lbs. He appeared to be wearing blue pants, blue or purple shoes with a red hooded sweatshirt, blue latex gloves and a face covering.
