The incident took place late Wednesday night near Hebron during severe weather conditions.

(Boone County, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian late Wednesday night.
The collision took place on westbound I-275 in Hebron around 11:28 p.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Kenworth tractor‑trailer owned by United Parcel Service and operated by Michael
Ferris of Richmond, KY, was traveling westbound on I‑275 when it struck a pedestrian who was standing in the travel portion of the highway.
The pedestrian has been identified as 45‑year‑old Nicholas Justice of New Boston, Ohio.
Justice was pronounced deceased while being transported to UC Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.
Preliminary contributing factors in the collision include severe weather and limited visibility, as well as Justice standing in the travel portion of the highway for reasons that cannot be confirmed at this time.
The collision remains under investigation.
