Ongoing Investigation Closes I-71 Northbound Near Carrollton

UPDATE: Interstate 71 in Carroll County has reopened, according to Kentucky State Police. No further information was released regarding the investigation. 

(Carroll County, Ky.) - Motorists are being diverted off of Interstate 71 northbound near Carrollton. 

Traffic is being diverted due to an ongoing investigation, according to Kentucky State Police. No details about the investigation were released. 

Currently, all northbound lanes of Interstate 71 are closed near the 47 mile marker. Traffic is being diverted off I-71 at the Carrollton exit. 

If motorists traveling north attempt to get off at exit 42, they will not be able to get to Carrollton due to the Prestonville Bridge being closed for maintenance work until 3:00. 

The estimated time of I-71 being closed is two hours.
