(Butler County, Oh.) – Ross Township Police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred Tuesday night on Ohio 128 in Butler County.
Officers said Tim Phillips, 18, of Hooven was driving a 1993 Buick Centurion northbound near Smith Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the roadway and hit a telephone pole at about 9:32 p.m.
A passenger in the car, Chad Baker, 20, of Hamilton, died at the scene.
Phillips and another passenger, Robert Young, 18, of Harrison, were aircared to the hospital. Each had suffered life-threatening injuries.
Phillips and Young each remained in critical condition as of Wednesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
The deadly crash is still under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
