The accident happened near Florence Speedway on Wednesday afternoon.

(Boone County, Ky.) – One person was killed in a Thanksgiving Eve crash in Boone County.
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a three-vehicle collision in front of the Florence Speedway on November 25 around 2:24 p.m.
Deputies say Joshua Allen, 18, of Independence, was eastbound on U.S. 42 when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway and exited the roadway.
Allen overcorrected and came back onto the roadway, crossed the center line, and sideswiped a vehicle driven by Jeremy Hill, 33, of Glencoe. Allen’s vehicle continued to slide sideways and struck another vehicle operated by Matthew Karschner, 39, of Walton.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Allen suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Verona EMS.
Karschner was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence with minor injuries. Hill was not injured in the crash.
Investigators say alcohol and drug impairment are unknown factors at this point, however, speed and wet roadway conditions are considered to be contributing factors.
