(Franklin County, Ind.) - A 16-year-old male driver from Liberty sustained fatal injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene in the 5000 block of Highland Center Road around 4:33 p.m.
Through their investigation, Deputies determined the driver was traveling southbound on Highland Center Road in a 2001 Ford F-250 pick-up truck. For reasons unknown, the vehicle went off of the right side of the roadway and the driver overcorrected, causing the pick-up to cross the road and go off of the east side of the roadway over an embankment.
The pick-up truck rolled several times, ejecting the teen, who deputies say was not wearing a seat belt.
He was pronounced deceased while in route to the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
