Dearborn County EMA is working to complete storm surveys.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Shortly after midnight on June 18 the National Weather Service in Wilmington issued a tornado warning and soon after issued another tornado warning that covered the southern part of Dearborn County.
This proved to be a significant weather event that likely resulted in a tornado touching down.
At this time emergency responders have been working to verify everyone is safe and accounted for along with ensuring roadways and utilities are secured. We are aware of one injury, but that person denied treatment.
Due to the resulting damage to power lines and trees East Laughery Creek Road and Cole Lane are closed and will remain closed for an extended time period.
We will be working with The National Weather Service to complete storm surveys. These will be completed as soon as they are available. We are asking anyone that received storm damage to call Dearborn County Emergency Management at (812) 537-3971 Option 2. Please leave a
message if you do not get an answer. You can also e-mail reports to EMA@dearborncounty.in.gov.
If you have structural damage to your home and need assistance from The American Red Cross please contact our office at the information above and we will help arrange that.
