Ohio County Tourism Announces Upcoming Fall Events

Fishing tournament, Navy Bean and more.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Ohio County Tourism announces that September and October 2025 is filled with a variety of fabulous fun fall events for kids of all ages. More are expected to be announced in the future.

The 20th annual Ohio Valley River Cats Fishing Tournament takes place on Saturday & Sunday, September 6-7, 2025, in downtown Rising Sun. Teams can still register through the ohiovalleyrivercats.com website. First Place is $10,000, with many other awards paid out to the top winners.

The City of Rising Sun’s Navy Bean Fall Festival takes place on Friday & Saturday, September 12 & 13, 2025, on Main, Poplar & Front Streets in downtown Rising Sun. Arts & crafts, food trucks, live entertainment, characters and more are all part of the annual event. The main attraction—navy beans and cornbread—will be sold along the riverfront.

Live bands include the Rising Sun Church of Christ Worship Team, and Kristine Kabbes and the Scallywags on Friday. Performances begin at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday performers include Elvis aka Mike Davis & Night in Vegas Show Band, Rachel Holt Band, and Lunchbox. The bands begin at 3:30 p.m. and play until 10:00 p.m.

The annual Navy Bean Fall Festival Parade takes place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Rising Sun. Applications are still being accepted, and can be found in Rising Sun at City Hall at 200 North Walnut Street or at the Visitors Center located at 217 N. High Street. Admission is free, although there is a charge for amusement rides. 

Locals and guests can search for treasures during the Rising Sun Community Yard Sale that takes place on Thursday-Saturday, September 18-20, 2025. A list of residences will be available through the City of Rising Sun closer to the date, although additional participants can be found along the way. Dates and opening/closing times of sales will vary from resident-to-resident.

The Red Wolf Rampage-5K & 10K Trail Run/Walk fundraiser takes place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. All proceeds from the event will be used to support Red Wolf Sancuary and its endeavors to preserve native North American wildlife. The race takes places at the sanctuary located at 3027 State Route 262 in Rising Sun. Discounted tours of the facility are available after the race.

Select Downtown Rising Sun shops will be open until 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, for the Third Saturday in Rising Sun. Drop by and shop at local businesses and eateries. 

Ohio County Tourism will be hosting a Friday Fun in Rising Sun-Cruisin’ Into Fall event on Friday evening, September 26, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles are invited. Join Cincinnati deejay J.D. Hughes, arts & crafts vendors, and the Twisted Tater food truck. Free for participants and spectators.

Scout Troop #605 will be participating in the Ohio River Sweep from on October 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Front Street near the Rising Sun Riverfront playground. Volunteers are needed. Text (513) 703-9129 or log on to www.orsanco/river-sweep.com for more information.

The Rising Sun Historical Museum presents a Bake Off for youth and adults on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The competition is for homemade cookies, cakes and pies. The deadline to enter is October 1. An entry fee is required, with cash prizes awarded. The museum is located at 212 S. Walnut Street in Rising Sun.
