Northern Kentucky “Revive the Drive” Resumes

(Newport, Ky.) - Warmer weather will bring out the orange barrels on northern Kentucky highways.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will continue its $185 million “Revive the Drive Northern Kentucky” regional highway improvement project this summer.

Construction begins Wednesday on Interstate 275 westbound between the Ohio River and AA Highway. Barrels will also go up on I-275 at the 1-75/71 northbound interchange in Erlanger.

Work on I-471 from the river to U.S. Route 27 starts Friday.

The transportation cabinet says pavement repairs on those highways, plus bridge painting will cause delays for drivers as lanes are restricted or shifted and 55 MPH speed limits are posted.

Construction is expected to continue through December.
