Navy Bean Fall Festival Returns to Rising Sun This Weekend, Road Closures Announced

Eagle Country 99.3 will broadcast live from the event on Friday from 4:30-6:30.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – The Navy Bean Fall Festival returns to Main and Front streets in Rising Sun this Friday and Saturday.

The event will feature rides, food, craft vendors, live music, fireworks and more.

Rides, food and craft vendors will open at 3:30 on Friday and will stay open until 10:00 p.m. Beans and cornbread will be available between 5:30 and 10:00.

Friday’s live entertainment starts at 5:30 with the RSCC Worship Team, followed by Kristine Kabbes and The Skallywags.

On Saturday, festivities get kicked off with the Navy Bean Fall Festival Parade at 10:30 a.m. Rides, food, and vendors open at 11:00 a.m. through 10:00 p.m. Beans and cornbread will be sold from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or until sold out.

Other activities include a magician, foam party, balloon artists, and Person of the Year presentation.

Live music starts at 4:00 with the Sweet Beats (Beatles Tribute), followed by Austin Tyler Lee Band at 6:00 and headliner Zack Attack at 8:00.

Fireworks will go off at approximately 10:00.

Street closures for the event will begin Wednesday, September 11 at 3:00 p.m. for ride set-up and will re-open no later than 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15. Closures are expected for the following areas:

  • Main Street from Heritage Hall Alley to Front Street
  • 100 blocks of North and South Poplar Street
  • Front Street from Fourth to First Street

The parade will start at the new boat ramp on Maiden Lane on Saturday at 10:30 and will proceed down Poplar Street towards Second Street and then left onto Second Street to Walnut Street and end on Rising Star Drive.

Temporary closures will be in place until 11:00 a.m.

The City of Rising Sun also reports the area near the First Street docks will also be closed to vehicle traffic from Williams Street to Second Street and all areas surrounding the docks for fireworks set-up.
