Motorcyclist Killed in Labor Day Crash

The victim hailed from Union, Kentucky

(Florence, Ky.) - Florence Police were dispatched to a serious accident early Monday morning along Burlington Pike. 

The single vehicle accident involving a motorcycle was reported around 1:37 a.m. near the intersection of Cavalier Boulevard. 

Investigators say the operator lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a utility pole. 

Troy Cherry, 52, of Union, was transported to UC Medical Center where he succumbed to injuries sustained. 

The collision remains under investigation, and alcohol may be a contributing factor.
