(Metamora, Ind.) – After a months-long investigation, a Metamora woman has been charged in a fatal overdose case.
Kelly Neville, 31, was charged Monday with Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death (level 1 felony), for her alleged role in the October 2018 death of Jeffrey Shultz.
According to probable cause affidavit, Neville is accused of conducting a drug deal with Schultz on October 5, 2018 at the Metamora Family Dollar.
Schultz’s body was found two days later on the floor of the men’s restroom. An autopsy found that Schultz died from an overdose of Acetyl Fentanyl, Fentanyl and Heroin.
Police say they identified Neville as a suspect after seeing copies of video footage from Family Dollar on October 5.
Last week, Neville allegedly admitted to participating in the drug transaction, while she was being held in Ripley County Jail for unrelated offenses.
Neville is currently held in the Franklin County Security Center. No bond has been set at this time.
Franklin County Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp and Sheriff Pete Cates say the investigation remains ongoing and that additional persons of interest face potential charges related to the matter.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department at 765-647-4138.
