Eagle Country 99.3 is proud to salute our U.S. military veterans and their brothers and sisters who have died in the line of duty.

Here is a list of local Memorial Day observances around the tri-state. If there is an event not on our list that you would like to see included, please email the full details to us.

 

SUNDAY, MAY 24

Dillsboro

American Legion Northcutt-Laaker Post 292, Dillsboro will perform Memorial Day Services on Sunday, May 24 at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro (1 PM) and St. John Cemetery (3 PM) in Farmers Retreat. The Post will host a Veteran Appreciation in the afternoon. A lunch buffet will be served. The Veteran's Walk will take off from the corner of North and Front streets. 

 

MONDAY, MAY 25

Addyston, OH

Veteran's Park Monument (Main Street) starting at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will reflect, pay tribute, and remember those who served with courage and dedication. 

Aurora 

Ceremony starts at 11:00 a.m. at River View Cemetery, Soldiers Circle. The program includes The Pledge of Allegiance, a presentation of wreaths, the remembrance box, which contains written memories of those who died in service, a three-volley salute, and the sounding of Taps. The special guest speaker is former Navy Petty Officer Second Class, Mike Vogelpohl.

Batesville, Morris, Oldenburg

Services will be held at the following locations: 

  • 8:00 AM Holy Family Cemetery (Oldenburg)
  • 8:30 AM St. Anthony Cemetery (Morris)
  • 9:00 AM St. Mark's Cemetery (Batesville)
  • 9:30 AM St. John's Cemetery (Batesville)
  • 10:00 AM St. Louis/Methodist Cemeteries (Batesville)
  • 11:00 AM Ceremony at Liberty Park (Batesville)

Meal served at conclusion of Liberty Park Ceremony at American Legion Post 271.

Florence, Ky.

The City of Florence invites the community to come together in remembrance and gratitude this Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, as they honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

The City’s Annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m., starting at Boone County High School and proceeding along Burlington Pike, turning onto Ewing Boulevard, and concluding at the north entrance of the Florence Government Center. Residents and visitors are encouraged to line the parade route and join the community in honoring the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

Please note that road closures along the parade route will begin at 9:45 a.m. and remain in effect until the parade concludes.

Following the parade, the community is invited to attend the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at the Boone County Veterans Memorial, located on the Florence Government Center campus. The ceremony will feature patriotic music performed by the Florence Community Band and Chorus, along with special tributes honoring the brave men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. The program serves as a meaningful opportunity for the community to reflect on the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms.

Harrison, OH

Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Parade lineup starts at 9:00 AM. Parade begins at 10:00. The route starts at Harrison Elementary and ends at Glenhaven Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to participate (no entry form required). No political signs permitted.

Lawrenceburg

The American Legion Post 239 Lawrenceburg, IN Memorial Day Parade. Participants are to gather at Dearborn County Courthouse at 9:00 am, West High and Mary St. Intersection and the parade starts at 10 am. Parade Route: From Dearborn County Courthouse, travel east on High Street turning left onto Walnut Street then proceed to St. Lawrence Church. Memorial Day ceremony at Greendale Cemetery at 11 am at Soldiers Circle with guest speaker Retired Judge James Humphrey. After the ceremony, all are invited to an open house at the American Legion Post 239 at 201 2nd St., Lawrenceburg IN 47025 for refreshments.

Milan

The American Legion Post 235 will visit the following cemeteries and locations: 

  • 10:30 AM - Pleasant Hill
  • 10:45 AM - Stringtown
  • 11:00 AM - New Cravens
  • 11:30 AM - Milan Flag @ SR 101 and Carr Street
  • 11:45 AM - Col. Canfield (Buddy) Boone Memorial @ Darren Baker Park
  • Noon - Old Milan
  • 12:15 PM - Old German Lutheran 
  • 12:30 PM - Prattsburg
  • 12:45 PM - St. Paul's @ Stumpke's Corner
  • 1:00 PM - Pilgrim Home Church (Franklin Cemetery)
  • 1:15 PM - Ripley Crossing

Sunman 

The Sunman American Legion Post 337 will have Memorial Day services at the following locations:
