(Burlington, Ky) - The Boone County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary in progress in the 6900 block of Gordon Boulevard in Burlington on Friday morning.
It was around 8:37 AM when a homeowner reported that her ex-boyfriend, Dylan Woodcock, was inside the home without her permission. Woodcock had arrived at the residence earlier in the morning and was seen on a doorbell camera.
The victim, who was not home at the time, was notified that Woodcock's vehicle was in her driveway just before calling 911.
Responding deputies found Woodcock's vehicle still running in the driveway. A drone was deployed, and Woodcock was observed in the upstairs hallway. He surrendered to deputies and was taken into custody around 10:33 AM.
Upon arrest, deputies allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Woodcock. He later admitted that he had voluntarily moved out of the residence months ago, knew he was not allowed to be there, but wanted to sleep in a familiar place.
Woodcock, 28, is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. He is currently lodged at the Boone County Jail.
