Local Vietnam Vet, First Responder Passes Away At 72

(Greendale, Ind.) – A local Vietnam Veteran and first responder has died.

David Teke, of Greendale, passed away on Monday at the age of 72.

Teke was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was also a member of the Greendale Fire Department and the Aurora Fire Department.

Other organizations Teke belonged to include the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 71, Lawrenceburg American Legion Post 239 and the Patriot Guard Riders.

Visitation for Teke will be held on Friday, August 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home in Greendale.

Those in attendance are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times and the wearing of masks or face coverings will be required.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.

Contributions may be made to the Greendale Fire Department or the Aurora Fire Department.
