The items in the bag are designed to help calm children in moments of crisis.

(Greendale, Ind.) – Brave Buddy Bags will be packed with comfort and sensory items like fidget toys, a soft blanket, stress ball, pen and paper, encouragement card, and other calming items.
Greendale Police Department will be the first to carry Brave Buddy Bags in their cruisers, so they have a way to help calm children in moments of crisis.
Nicole McLane came up with the idea due to her own family’s journey.
As a foster parent, McLane has seen children arrive carrying fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak.
“I’m incredibly excited to partner with Greendale Police Department. When they respond to calls involving children, they’ll have something more than just words, they’ll have a bag filled with comfort, care, and hope.
Residents can help by sponsoring a Brave Buddy Bag for $30, make a donation of any amount or share this story to help spread the word.
