INDIANAPOLIS - As health insurance costs continue to challenge small employers, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Indy Chamber are expanding access to ChamberCare through a growing network of local chamber partners.
The effort is designed to make affordable, more predictable health benefit options easier for small businesses statewide to learn about and evaluate through trusted organizations in their own communities.
Launched seven years ago by the Indiana Chamber and Indy Chamber, ChamberCare is a multiple employer welfare arrangement (MEWA) that allows qualifying small businesses to pool together when purchasing employee health coverage. For employers with 2–50 employees, the program provides access to competitive plan options and may reduce health benefit costs by up to 40 percent, depending on eligibility and plan selection.
A total of 35 local chambers have already joined the new ChamberCare Partner Network, including the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce.
“Local chambers are often the first place employers turn when they are looking for practical business solutions,” says Vanessa Green Sinders, president and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. “For many small employers, health benefits are one of the most important investments they make in their people, but also one of the hardest costs to manage. Through the ChamberCare Partner Network, we can build on those relationships to connect more small businesses with a health benefits option focused on affordability, predictability and the needs of Indiana’s workforce.”
Employers interested in ChamberCare can contact the Indiana Chamber at chambercare@indianachamber.com or their participating local chamber to learn more about eligibility, plan options and next steps. More information on ChamberCare is also available at chambercarehealth.com.
