The initiative began in 2019

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Thanks to the generosity of the Sunman-Dearborn Endowment, all school supplies for Sunman-Dearborn students in grades K-5 will be provided for the 2026-27 school year.
This initiative, which began in 2019, will once again ensure that families in the district have one less worry as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
"This continued investment helps ensure every elementary student starts the year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed, while easing the back-to-school shopping burden for families. We are incredibly grateful to the Sunman-Dearborn Endowment for their ongoing commitment to our students, staff, and community. Their generosity continues to make a meaningful difference for our families," reads a statement from Sunman-Dearborn Schools.
In addition, there will be no textbook rental or course fees for any students in grades K-12.
The Endowment Corporation remains committed to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment for Sunman-Dearborn students, aligning with the district's mission to inspire confidence and success in every student, every day.
