Lawrenceburg Schools Pay Tribute to Longtime School Bus Driver

Sandi Gentry passed away September 29 at the age of 70.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – If you have driven along U.S. 50 near Lawrenceburg in recent days, you have probably noticed a school bus parked at First Financial Bank.

The bus is draped in a banner that reads, “We will miss you Sandi”.

Sandi Gentry passed away on September 29 at the age of 70.

The Aurora native dedicated much of her life as a school bus driver at numerous Dearborn County schools.

In total, Gentry drove for over 35 years, including the past 20 years at Lawrenceburg.

Family, friends, students and community members are welcome to sign, share a memory or write a note to the family on the banner. Black ribbons are also being placed on the front of school bus mirrors in her memory.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greendale Middle School. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home in Greendale.
